定語(yǔ)從句相信大家在初高中都已經(jīng)學(xué)習(xí)過(guò)，在各種閱讀材料中也都見(jiàn)過(guò)不少。一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單句跟在名詞或代詞后進(jìn)行修飾限定，在主句中充當(dāng)定語(yǔ)成分，這樣的句子就叫定語(yǔ)從句，如果能用到寫(xiě)作中，會(huì)給我們的文章增色不少。
定語(yǔ)從句的運(yùn)用
定語(yǔ)從句通常由關(guān)系詞引導(dǎo)，關(guān)系詞可以分為關(guān)系代詞和關(guān)系副詞。關(guān)系代詞主要有that, which, who, whom, whose; 關(guān)系副詞主要有when, where, why。根據(jù)先行詞的不同，所選擇的關(guān)系詞也不同。下面我們就用不同的關(guān)系詞來(lái)對(duì)句子進(jìn)行合并。
01that的用法
(1)Although television has reduced the amount of time, it doesn’t have to be this way.
(2)The time family and friends spend together
在這兩個(gè)句子中，第二個(gè)句子可修飾第一個(gè)句子中的名詞“time”，因此，我們可以選擇that或which作為引導(dǎo)詞，將兩個(gè)句子合并為一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句：
Although television has reduced the amount of time that family and friends spend together, it doesn’t have to be this way.
02who的用法
(1)People can make the choice to turn off the TV and do something more active.
(2)People are addicted in watching TV.
在這兩個(gè)句子中，第二個(gè)句子修飾第一個(gè)句子中的名詞“people”，因?yàn)樾揎椚耍砸龑?dǎo)詞只能選who，將兩個(gè)句子合并為一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句如下：
People who are addicted in watching TV can make the choice to turn off the TV and do something more active.
03which的用法
(1)Or, if they really want to watch TV, they can find a thought-provoking program.
(2)A thought-provoking program they would all like to watch and discuss afterwards.
在這兩個(gè)句子中，第二個(gè)句子修飾第一個(gè)句子中的名詞“a thought-provoking program”，可有引導(dǎo)詞that或which連接兩個(gè)句子，組成一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句：
Or, if they really want to watch TV, they can find a thought-provoking program which they would all like to watch and discuss afterwards.
